Dear Mayor Teeter:
The final plans and specifications for the subject project have been reviewed
and found to be satisfactory. Authorisation is hereby granted for the construction
of a 0.5 MGD extended aeration treatment facility including: an influent pump station
with aerated grit removal, dual 915 GPM and 350 GPM pumps, and a comminutor; 17,195
lineal feet of 10-inch force main; dual aeration basins; dual clarifiers; dual aera-
ted sludge holding tanks; 2,500 square feet of sand drying beds; sludge return pump
station with dual 350 GPM pumps; recirculation pump station with dual 350 GPM
chlorine contact basin; polymer feed system; laboratory building; 680 lineal feet of
18-inch outfall; flow measurement; and standby power at the plant and influent pump
station.
This is a Class II Wastewater Treatment Plant and the operator in responsible
charge is required to hold a valid Grade II Certificate.
This Authorisation to Construct shall be subject to revocation unless the
wastewater treatment facilities are constructed in accordance with the conditions
and limitations specified in Permit No. NC0043532.
One (1) set of approved plans and specifications is being forwarded to you
and one (1) set to the Environmental Protection Agency. Upon review and approval
of the plans and specifications, the Environmental Protection Agency will advise
the town when to advertise for bids to construct this project.
