Below is the list of contacts I have made on this matter. 01/24/2013 Spoke with Jesse Baker of NC Division of Marine Fisheries (252 808 8064). She indicated that their moratorium on dredging for our location does not commence until 1 April 01/24/2013 Spoke with Fritz Rodi of US National Marine Fisheries Service (252 838 0828). He indicated that their concerns for a moratorium would correspond with the dates established by the State. I indicated to him that the State had indicated no moratorium for dredging until 1 April and he was fine with that. 01/25/2013 Spoke with Kelly Matthews of US Fish and Wildlife Service (919 856 4520, ext 26). She indicated they had no moratoria for that area coming into effect in February. They have concern over the Manatee later on, but provided their manatee guidelines were followed, there was no Manatee Moratorium. They also have concerns for sea turtle nesting, but that would be much later than February. 01/29/2013 Spoke with Maria Dunn of NC Wildlife Resources Commission (252 946 6481). She indicated that they have no concerns up to the first of April 01/29/2013 Called JoAnne Steenhuis (910 796 7306) of NC DWQ and advised that the 4 key resource agencies had been contacted and they had no moratoria that would go in to effect until April. She indicated that since there really did not exist any moratoria in February that no written notice to DWQ was needed to continue dredging. Many thanks for your kind attention to this matter.
