THIS DEED, made and entered into this the 16th day of November,
•1878, by and between JOY FOX ALLRED and husband, G. H. ALLRED;
F. LEE FOX and wife, MAR THA F. FOX, and DOROTHY FOXTEAGUE
(Unmarried), of Chatham County, North Carolina, parties of the first
part; and Clark Allred, Kermit Duncan, Fred Brown, Jack Tanner, and
Harold Allred, TRUSTEES, Wayne Mendenhall Post 003, THE AMERICAN
LEGION, of Chatham County, North Carolina, parties of the second part;
WITNESS ETH:
THAT said parties of the first part for and in consideration of
TEN DOLLARS AND OTHER GOOD AND VALUABLE CONSIDERATIONS
to them paid by the parties of the second part, the receipt of which to
hereby acknowledged, have bargained and sold and by these presents
do grant, bargain, sell and convey to said parties of the second part, and
their successors in office, a certain tract or parcel of land in Matthews
Township, Chatham County, North Carolina, and more particularly

to the BEGINNING, and containing approximately forty (40) ACRES, more
or less.

and between W. DONALD BREWER and wife, FLORENCE G. BREWER, of Moore County,
North Carolina; JAMES L. BREWER and wife, SHIRLEY S. BREWER, of Chatham
County, North Carolina; and C. C. BREWER, JR. and wife, GLADYS S. BREWER, of
Wautaga County of North Carolina, parties of the first part; and TOWN OF
SILER CITY, a municipal corporation, created and existing under and by
virtue of the laws of the State of North Carolina, P. O. Box 769, Siler
City, North Carolina 27344, party of the second part;

the Town of Siler City lands South, 73 degrees West, about 119.8 feet to an
iron stake, corner with said Town of Siler City lands; thence North, 52
degrees West, with said Town of Siler City lands line 119 feet to an iron
stake, corner with lands of said Town; thence with the line of Toan of Siler
City lands South, 49 degrees West, 103.5 feet to an iron stake, corner with
lands of said of said Town; thence South, 73 degrees 30 minutes West, 450
feet to a stake in the line of the lands of said Town; thence South, 68
degrees East, 579 feet to the center of a creek, or branch, corner with
Teague lands; thence down the center of said creek or branch, as it
meanders, and along the Teague lands line, as follows, North, 41 degrees
East, 101 feet, North, 20 degrees East, 125 feet, North, 71 degrees East, 71
feet, North 21 degrees East, about 81 feet to the center of Rocky River, the
beginning point. Containing 1.8 Acres, more or less.
The above tract or parcel of land being designated on a map or
plat of survey made by B. B. Bray, December, 1950, and sworn to December 13,
1950,■ as (2), and being a part of that identical tract of land off of which
Joy Allred and husband and Hurley Fox and wife sold to the Town of Siler
City, North Carolina, and on which the dam for the Municipal Lake of the
Town of Siler City was built, the lands herein conveyed adjoining said
municipal lands.

Ordinances which might now exist on said property.
TO HAVE AND To HOLD the aforesaid tract or parcel of land and all
privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging to the said party of the
second part and its successors and assigns forever.
AND the said parties of the first part do covenant that they are
seized of said premises in fee and have the right to convey the same in fee
simple; that the same are free and clear from all encumbrances, and that
they will warrant and defend the said title to the same against the claims
of all persons whomsoever.
