Examples include ORC socks, iSOC systems, and other gas infusion methods (Note: Injection Event Records (IER) do not need to be submitted for replacement of each sock used in ORC systems). 2) Small-Scale Injection O perations -Injection wells located within a land surface area not to exceed 10,000 square feet for the purpose of soil or groundwater remediation or tracer tests. An individual permit shall be required for test or treatment areas exceeding 10,000 square feet. 3) Pilot Tests -Preliminary studies conducted for the pwpose of evaluating the technical feasibility of a remediation strategy in order to develop a full scale remediation plan for future implementation, and where the surface area of the injection zone wells are located within an area that does not exceed five percent of the land surface above the known extent of groundwater contamination. DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED INJECTION ACTIVITIES -Provide a brief narrative regarding the purpose, scope, and goals of the proposed injection activity . This should include the rate, volume, and duration of injection over time. The purpose of the iniection is to flush and emulsify adsorbed gasoline from the a quifer material and subsurface soil so it may be recovered b y total fluids extraction from the water table that is approximately 32 feet below the ro-ound surface. Once the in jectant is introduced to the source area soil and contacts the gasoline contaminated zone. the surfactant will flush gasoline adsorbed to the soil, form an emulsified li qui d of injectant and ga soline that will move by gravity or by vacuum enhanced recovery to the water table where it may be recovered with vacuum enhanced extraction or total fluids extraction pumps. Over four feet of gasoline NAPL on the water table were removed during the first surfactant injection event in 2014 with no rebound of measurable thickness of NAPL on the water table. The estimated injection rate per well will be approximately 0.5 to 2.5 gallons per minute (gpm ). Based on the plume area, a pproximatel v 4 ,000 gallons of injectant solution will be introduced to the treatment area in a time frame of a minimum of 3 days to u p to 5 days based on injection rates and maintaining low inj ection pressures.
