The purpose of the project is to replace a structurally deficient single span bridge over an UT to Deep River with two 12'X 10'Reinforced Concrete Box Culverts(RCBCs)with wing
walls.
4i.Describe the overall project in detail,including indirect impacts and the type of equipment to be used:*
The project will involve replacing a single span bridge with two box culverts.There will be impacts from the placement of the box culverts in the stream,as well as,impacts from bank
stabilization that will be necessary at the inlet and outlet ends of the culverts to prevent slope failure.Floodplain benches with coir fiber matting will also be installed to help direct and
reduce widening of the stream.The lowflow culvert will be placed at least one foot below the stream bed and sills will be used to direct stream flow and decrease stream widening.
Traffic will be detoured offsite during construction.Standard road building equipment will be used such as dozers,cranes,dump trucks and tamps.

Roadway approach work was minimized as much as possible to reduce the overall footprint of the project.An offsite detour will be utilized during
construction in order to avoid the need for a temporary crossing.Future stream impacts will be reduced by protecting the inlet and outlet ends of the
culvert with riprap bank stabilization.
