We just received the invoice (number 2021PR003379), dated 4/7/2021 and covering the
fee period from 5/1/2021 to 4/30/2022, for the annual water and septic fee for the
property at 101 Fallen Log, Chapel Hill (Chatham County), North Carolina 27516. However,
we sold this property on June 10, 2020, to Walter Sanchez and Jessica Sapaugh (who now
live there), as shown on the attached screenshot from the Chatham County Land Records
Viewer. It is not clear why we are still listed there as taxpayer of record - at closing, we
paid $713.60 for the property tax covering 1/1/2020 to 6/11/2020 but Sanchez & Sapaugh
are paying the property tax for 6/11/2020 to 12/31/2020. Fortunately, the attached copy
of the general warranty deed shows clearly that our ownership ended on 6/10/2020 and
Sanchez and Sapaugh's ownership began on 6/10/2020, which should make them the
current taxpayers of record.
We thought we should send the invoice back to you so that you could correct your internal
records first -- perhaps you were not notified of the changes on 6/10/2020 -- and then
send a corrected or updated invoice to the new owners, at 101 Fallen Log.
Thank you for your 19 years of help and service during the time we owned the Fallen Log
property. We actually learned quite a bit from the very helpful people who came out to
inspect and test the water and septic systems, and to explain to us what we needed to do to
make sure we were doing our part in maintaining the systems in good order -- particularly
Ray Milosh, Danny Smith, Mack Wiggins, and Cheng Zhang. (We are about to embark on
another project in Orange county - maybe we will be in touch with you again!)

This annual fee is required by the North Carolina Administrative Code. It covers the administrative costs associated with
your permit. It is required of any person holding a permit for any time during the annual fee period, regardless of the facili
operating status. Failure to pay the fee by the due date will subject the permit to revocation. Operating without a valid
permit is a violation and is subject to a $10,000 per day fine. If the permit is revoked and you later decide a permit is
needed, you must reapply, with the understanding the permit request may be denied due to changes in environmental,
regulatory, or modeling conditions.
