Thank you for taking the time to speak with me today and help resolve our overdue permit fee.
This is in reference to Clariant Corporation's Mount Holly East facility, permit number NCS000037. I received notice that
invoice number 2019PR006117 for $860 is overdue. The past due notice gives Clariant a deadline of 3/15/2021 to make
payment.
As we discussed, Clariant submitted a request to rescind permit number NCS000037 on 9/30/2019, while simultaneously
submitting an application to become party to general permit number NCG110000. Subsequently, on 11/18/2019,
Clariant was issued certificate of coverage number NCG110159. Copies of our request and our new certificate are
attached. Clariant assumed that when the new permit was issued, the old permit was rescinded, since the requests
were submitted together.
I do have a copy of a check that was sent for payment of this invoice on 8/2/2019. However, our accounting system
shows that the check was never cashed. I do not know if the check was lost in the mail or if it was returned because of
the new permit.
I request your assistance to determine if this fee is still required. If it is required, I request a 30-day extension to allow
time for payment to be issued.
Additionally, please delete Kenneth Hausle as your contact person for this permit and replace him with me. Ken Hausle
no longer works for Clariant Corporation. My contact information is shown below.
