On 06/15/2020, the first semi-annual stormwater analytical sampling event was conducted at the Duke
University Transportation Maintenance Garage, in accordance with the facility's obligation for the above
referenced permit and certificate of coverage. Analytical results were received on 07/08/2020 with all
results below their respective semi-annual benchmark values outside of one Total Suspended Solids value
(120 mg/L) from Stormwater Discharge Outfall 2 (SDO2).' In response to this result, we conducted a
facility stormwater management inspection on 7/15/2020 in accordance with the requirements listed in
NCG 080000.
At the time of this inspection, we noted that additional measures to improve sediment and erosion control
at this site were still under construction and could have contributed to this slightly elevated result. The
additional preventative measures, originating from an 4/29/2020 inspection, included the construction of a
retaining wall, the installation of a sediment control wattle near SDO2, and thorough site sweeping.
These measures and select actions have been completed and we have also made note of the action start
date, completion date, inspection date (with attending personnel), and date and value of the benchmark
exceedance within the SPPP. Additionally, a site map and site photos are provided in attachment 2.
