GENERAL NOTES:
1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VISIT THE SITE AND BECOME FAMILIZED WITH
EXISTING CONDITIONS AND WORK#NG CONDITIONS. ANY DISCREPENCIES
WITH THE DRAWINGS SHALL BE BROUGHT TO THE OWNER'S
REPRESENTATIVE.
2. CLEARING: CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE ALL TREES AND VEGETATION
WITHIN THE LIMITS OF CONSTRUCTION UNLESS OTHERWISE DESIGNATED TO
REMAIN,
3. GRUBBING AND STRIPPING. CONSTRACTOR SHALL RAKE AND REMOVE
ROOTS, STUMPS, VEGETATION, DEBRIS, AND EXISTING STRUCTURES ABOVE
AND BELOW GRADE, ORGANIC MATERIAL OR ANY OTHER UNSUITABLE
MATERIAL WITHIN THE LIMITS OF CONSTRUCTION.
4. MUCKING: CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE WITH THE OWNER'S
REPRESENTATIVE AND GEOTECHNICAL CONSULTANT FCR REMOVAL OF ANY
SOFT AREAS ONSITE.
5. DISPOSAL: CLEARED, GRUBBED, STRIPPED OR OTHER WASTE MATERIAL
SHALL BE REMOVED FROM SITE AND DISPOSED OF IN A PROPERLY
PERMITTED FACILITY.
6. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LOCATION AND PROTECTION
OF ALL EXISTING UTILITIES DURING CONSTRUCTION. BEFORE COMMENCING
ANY EXCAVATIONS IN OR ALONG ROADWAY RIGHT-OF-WAYS, PUBLIC AREAS
OR IN PRIVATE EASEMENTS, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE PROPER
NOTICE TO ALL UTILITY COMPANIES IN CONFORMANCE WITH THE
"UNDERGROUND DAMAGE PREVENTION ACT", LATEST REVISION. UTILITIES,
IF LISTED ON THE DRAW€NGS, MAY OR MAY NOT REPRESENT ALL UTILITIES

DEVICES SHALL BE PROVIDED IN ACCORDANCE WITH NCDOT TO MAINTAIN
SAFETY AND TRAFFIC MOVEMENTS.
12_ CONCRETE STORM DRAIN PIPE SHALL BE CLASS III WITH RUBBER
GASKETED JOINTS AND INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDATIONS.
13. ELEVATIONS REFER TO MEAN SEA LEVEL (MSL).
14. SHOULD CONTRACTOR REQUIRF WATER FOR CONSTRUCTION, NOTIFY CITY IN
ADVANCE TO ARRANGE SERVICE. WATER AND SEWER SERVICES SIZES AND
LOCATIONS, BY OWNER. PROJECT SHALL COMPLY WITH CROSS -CONNECTION
REQUIREMENTS OF CITY OF WILMINGTON.
