David-
I am processing the NOi for the above geothermal injection well. The
complete address for the well driller was blank. Would you please
forward the address for Coastal Drilling. I called Lynn Morris's cell
and Coastal for their address and no one returned my call.
Also, DENR's website indicates this project is for the NC Aquariums
Pier-Roanoke Island and the county GIS indicates that the property owner
is the NC Dept of Administration not the NC Aquarium Society, so I
modified the form and initialized the corrections instead of sending it
back.
Thanks

Nags Head, NC 27959
Dear Mr. Griffin:
In accordance with the application submitted to the Underground Injection Control (UIC) Program that
was received on 10/13/2008, the Aquifer Protection Section (APS) acknowledges your intent to construct
a closed -loop geothermal water-onl% injection well system for the operation of a ground -source heat
pump located at 7223 S. Virginia Dare Trail; Nags Head, Dare County, NC 27959, This system is
deemed permitted by rule (North Carolina Administrative Code Title 15A, Subchapter 2C, Section
.0211(u)(2)).
However, it is recommended that you contact the Dare County Health Department, as they may have
additional construction or permitting requirements for this type of system. if you modify your system at
any time, including the addition of antifreeze, corrosion inhibitors, or any other substances to the
circulating fluid, you must contact the APS to verify compliance with applicable rules.
Thank you for submitting this notification. if you have any questions please call me at (919) 715-6166.
Sincerely,
WAk &&C

Ono design inothod is based on the solution of the equation for
heat transfer Frost a cylinder Mated in the earth. TW 4gwfion was
devalopod and evaluated by Carelaw and Trager (1947) and was
suggested by itagusoll and Zobel (1954) as an appropriate method
of sizing ground beat exthattgars. Y_wuaugb (1985) adjusted the
method to recount for the U-bend arrangement and hourly }seat
rate variations. Alternative design methods are dea m''W by Ihidl-

(2000).
The method of Ingersoll and Zohal (1954) can be used to dandle
