and coirespondm, DWQ certification fo the tcplacemcnt of Low Impact Bridge# 17 in Berne County
The bi idgc is located on SR 1200 approximate]) 2 05 miles west of the intersection with NC 1 i The bridge
spans Loosing Swamp which is a ti ibutary to Ahoskie Cieek Loosing Swamp is classified by DWQ as
class C NSW wa ers Ba idge# 17 is ct r tuft,/a vooden sti ucture vith tnnbei deck that is 86 ft long by
26 ft wide The deck is supported by 4 inter for wooden pile bents This structure will be removed using
NCDOT s guidelines for bridge demolition and removal The proposed bridge will be replaced on its
existing alignment The new bride stiucturc will be 125 ft in lenuth by.» ft wide and built with precast
cored slab concrete deck concrete piles and end bents Jul isdiction al wetland and surface water impacts
h ive been avoid d and minimized or this pioject The piojec will permanently impact 0 04 acres of
wetlands due to fill and perm tnently impact 0 09 acres of wetlaras do to hand clearing(will be
