Woodman and we are applying for a permit to build a rock wall for the purpose of shoreline stabilization at our property on Lake Glenville (Thorpe Reservoir), in the Stonebridge development near Glenville and Cashiers, N.C. This letter summarizes the primary information we understand that you require in order to provide this permit Please contact me immediately if any information is incomplete or there are specific questions. P_ roperty Location: Physical address of private lot is: Lot 7 Stonebridge Way, Cullowhee, NC 28723 (please note that a physical address has not yet been assigned as at this time, it remains a "vacant lot'). This property is located on the west side of Lake Glenville (Thorpe Reservoir) in Jackson County, near Glenville Township and approximately 5 miles north of Cashiers, NC. It is part of a very small development called Stonebridge. Access is through a development gate called Summer Hill (gate code is #A S-38). Project Description: Outlined within the application are the project specifications. It is our intention to build a wall with rock boulders. The wall is anticipated to be in the range of 4 -5 feet high and approximately 250 feet wide (approximately 2/3 of our 345 foot waterfront property line - - -see enclosed survey for layout of property site). Rip rap rock will be used underneath the boulders to provide stability to the wall itself. This will all be done using a backhoe at the lakefront point during the months of November and December of 2012 when the lake is close to its lowest level. Also enclosed are pictures of lakefront section of our property where the stabilization wall will be constructed. These pictures were taken on July25, 2012, 20120849 The following is an abbreviated application form for,those applying for a 401 Water Quality Certification to impact FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) regulated lake shore or bottom under the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Permit GP30. This Application cannot be used for wetland or stream impacts. Please provide five (5) copies of this application and supporting information as well as a non - refundable application fee to the Division of Water Quality of $240.00 for impacts to lake bottom of less than 1 acre and $570.00 for impacts to lake bottom of greater or equal to 1 acre.
