Attached is my application package requesting approval to install riprap on my property at Lake
Rhodhiss. The following are documents included in the package:
Attachment 1 is the abbreviated application for 401 Water Quality Certification;
Attachment 2 is a description of the proposed project;
Attachment 3 is a hand sketch of the project;
Attachment 4 is the site plan indicating the shoreline stabilization; corridors to access the lake;
and trees that will be removed. All of the trees are three (3) inches or less in diameter and no trees will
be removed from the shoreline. There will be no shaping of the existing shoreline;
Attachment 5 is a cross section of the proposed stabilization;
Attachment 6 is the survey of the property;
Attachment Tare photos of the shoreline. The photos clearly indicate the erosion. One tree
and possibly two have fallen in the water due to erosion in the past two years with another one close to
falling in the water. Failure to stabilize the shoreline will continue to result in additional erosion, and
tree property loss.

The following is an abbreviated application form for those applying for a 401 Water Quality
Certification to impact FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) regulated lake shore or
bottom under the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Permit GP30. This Application cannot be used
for wetland or stream impacts. Please provide seven (7) copies of this application and supporting
information as well as a non - refundable application fee to the Division of Water Quality of $240.1
for impacts of to lake bottom of less than 1 acre and $570.00 for impacts to lake bottom of greater
or equal to 1 acre.

Description of the proposed project:
Riprap will be installed along approximately 250 linear feet of the exiting shoreline. The riprap will be
Class B Serge stone. It is anticipated that the existing shoreline will not be shaped or excavated. There
will be approximately 11 (or less) trees under three (3) inches removed (several of the trees are dead
and several are not in the Buffer Zone. The riprap will be brought in by land. The stone will be
transported by motor vehicle to the shoreline along 7 corridors. All of the corridors follow paths that
have little vegetation and no trees over three (3) inches in diameter.
