Dear Mr. Langley:
The City of High Point hereby wishes to notify the Division of Water Quality that, per the permit
language included in the city's March 10th, 2000 Westside WWTP Permit No. NC0024228 ("the
permit"), the city has met the conditions described in the permit's A (4) Cyanide Special Condition.
Effluent cyanide values have not been detected greater than the quantitation limit of 10 ug/L through
April 30, 2000.
Accordingly, the city respectfully will exercise the option provided in the Cyanide Special Condition
to eliminate the permit limit requirement for cyanide and to implement once per month monitoring for
cyanide by grab sample. The city believes that this letter satisfies the pertinent terms of the Cyanide
Special Condition and that monitoring, with no numerical limit requirement, will therefore be in effect
on May 1, 2000 and thereafter, as described in the permit.
