The wastewater treatment plant treats only process water from the facility. All domestic is discharged into the City of Elizabethtown's WWTP. 2. This facility manufactures controls for a wide range of items which includetimers, counting devices, temp recorders and controllers. 3. The following NPDES permit required parameters are analyzed on site: temperature and pH. All other parameters are analyzed by Pace Analysis, Huntersville, NC, except Acute Toxicity which is analyzed by Similab. 4. A review of DMRs for August 2001 and June 2001 were correct when compared to laboratory reports. Please remember to keep chain of custody information with laboratory reports. 5. This facility has four (4) discharge pipes: 001, 002 and 003 waste stream combining to produce 004. Pipe 004 is all discharge pipes combined which flow to the receiving stream. 6. The wastewater plant treats two (2) different processes. One area treats the chrome plating waste stream where chromium is removed while the other area treats the cyanide waste stream. In the removal of these heavy metals, pH adjustment occur as well as chemical addition which produces a floc during the treatment. Both treatment areas flow to the clarifier where settling occurs. 7. All sludge is disposed of as a hazardous waste and transported by Safety Kleen. 8. Most maintenance is performed by plant personnel other than major repairs for which contract companies are used. 9. The flow is measured by the potable water meters (2) at the plating .001 process flow meter (groundwater remediation) on .003 and monthly reading of water meters at molding machines for .002 (plastics section). 10. The effluent appeared to be free of solids. 11. The NPDES permit was available upon request. 12. Facility was very clean and well organized!
