Prior to this date LP operated a biosolids (residuals) land application program according to the requirements ofNCDENR-SWQ Permit No. WQ0000461. Please note that no residuals generated from the wastewater treatment process (NPDES NC0005266) were land applied after March 31, 2020. All land application in Q2 of 2020 was from the on -site residual storage pit. These residuals were generated in late 2019 and early 2020. LP has operated in compliance with the permit requirements during 2020 except as noted below. Groundwater Monitoring — Monitoring, Record Keeping, and Reporting LP has six (6) monitoring wells listed in Permit No. WQ0000461. These wells were sample once (1) per year according to the requirements of the previous permit. 2020 was a permit renewal year. These six (6) wells are located on LP property and correspond to selected groups of land application fields that are monitored. All land application ceased in the monitoring area of field 1228-10387-25 in 2008. LP has indicated non-compliance with this requirement due to elevated nitrate readings exceeding 10 mg/1 measured in groundwater monitoring wells DSI-MW1, DSI-MW5, and DSI-MW9 during the September monitoring event. The results of the groundwater monitoring are included in this report in the Groundwater Analysis section.
