On August 1, 011, the Division of Water Quality received your check in the amount of $2 10.06, representing payment of the penalty assessed for a daily maximum limit violation for total phenolics, along with enforcement costs assessed in the matter. A remission request was submitted with regard to the remainder ($750.00) of the assessed penalties. However, wastewater containing sulfides can lead to the formation of hydrogen sulfide in water causing human health concerns and also toxicity to aquatic organisms and fish.
