Box 160 Yanceyville, North Carolina 27379 SUBJECT: Notice of Deficiency (NOD-2017-PC-0193) Stoney Creek Elementary School — Wastewater Irrigation System Permit No. WQ0006941 Caswell County Dear Mr. Hatchett: ROY COOPER Governor MICHAEL S. REGAN Secretary S. JAY ZIMMERMAN Director On May 4, 2017 staff of the North Carolina Division of Water Resources (DWR) Winston-Salem Regional Office performed a compliance inspection of the subject wastewater irrigation system. This inspection was performed by DWR representative Jim Gonsiewski. The compliance inspection report for this inspection is enclosed for your review. A separate DWR office file review of self -monitoring data for the period of March 2016 through April 2017 was also conducted. While the majority of the inspection reflects compliance with Permit WQ0006941, the following deficiencies were noted: 1. Permit Condition IV.4 requires that effluent be sampled weekly for total residual chlorine. No residual chlorine analyses were conducted for the subject review period. 2. Permit Condition IV.4 also requires the effluent be sampled three times a year (January, May and September) for the sequence of parameters listed in Appendix A of the permit. These analyses were not conducted for the January 2017 sample event. Please ensure that this does not occur in future sampling events. :rNothing Compares ,,, State of North Carolina l Environmental Quality 450 W.
