REQUEST FOR MORE INFORMATION
Dear Mr. Wiseman:
On Apri12, 2007, the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) received your application dated March 30, 2007,
to fill or otherwise impact 0.246 acres of 404/wetland and 120 linear feet of perennial stream to construct
the proposed multi-unit, residential subdivision. The DWQ has determined that your application was
incomplete and/or provided inaccurate information as discussed below. The DWQ will require additional
information in order to process your application to impact protected wetlands and/or streams on the
subject property. Therefore, unless we receive five copies of the additional information requested below,
we will have to move toward denial of your application as required by 15A NCAC 2H .0506 and will
place this project on hold as incomplete until we receive this additional information. Please provide the
following information so that we may continue to review your project.
Additional Information Requested:
The DWQ can require stormwater management plans for developments that have, or are anticipated to
have, 30% or greater of impervious surface area within an HQW watershed. Furthermore, it is the
DWQ's policy that areas of concentrated development within a project must treat stormwater runoff.
Your project appears to contain areas of concentrated development and therefore you will need to
provide a comprehensive stormwater management plans, in which all stormwater from the site is treated
by either extended detention stormwater wetlands, bioretention areas, or wet detention ponds followed
by level spreaders and forested filter strips. In your resubmittal, please include a separate DWQ
worksheet for each BMP that is used as well as attaching all items in the Required Items Checklist. The
DWQ worksheets are available at: http://h2o.enr.state.nc.us/ncwetlands/regcert.html
Please contact the DWQ within three weeks of the date of this letter to verify that you have received this
letter and to provide us with a date that we may expect to receive this requested information. If we do not
receive this requested information within one week of the date you indicate it will be forthcoming, your
project will be withdrawn and you will need to reapply with a new application and a new fee. Please
contact me in writing and Joanne Steenhuis of the DWQ Wilmington Regional Office. If we do not hear
from you within three weeks, we will assume that you no longer want to pursue this project and we will
consider the project as withdrawn.
