Dear Mr.Weaver,
I am writing to request that NPDES permit# NC0068365 be rescinded. The Town currently holds this
permit for our Water Treatment Facility process waste. We no longer need this permit as we have begun
pumping and hauling all process water from the plant to our Wastewater Treatment Plant for treatment. We
have not discharged any process water to Tom's Creek sin November 24, 2020. We have decided to change
the process for dealing with this waste because our Water Treatment Facility will cease operations within
the next year and some of the equipment required by our NPDES permit is worn, outdated, and in need of
replacement. We have decided that it is more economical to pump and haul the process waste to our WWTP.
This would save us the cost of the new equipment that would be no longer needed within a year as well as
the costs for personnel and laboratory expenses. We are asking that this permit be rescinded at your earliest
convenience. If you need any further information,please do not hesitate to contact me or our ORC Kent
