Reference your July 5, 2011 letter, requesting documentation that we require no further
monitoring of the UT to Kit Creek Mitigation Site, adjacent to NC 540 Northern Wake Expressway
at Sta. 10+41-YRPA-, in Wake County, North Carolina, which was mitigation for TIP
Project R-2000AB. The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) has monitored the
mitigation site for channel stability, and submitted reports in 2006 through 2010. Representatives
of NCDOT Natural Environment and Division 5, the Corps, and environmental review agencies,
inspected the site on May 26, 2011.
Based on the May 26, 2011 site inspection, we concur with your recommendation to
discontinue monitoring and close this site, and have determined that you have satisfied the
mitigation stream construction and monitoring requirements of the permit authorization for TIP R-
2000AB.
Should you have any questions, please call me at (919) 554-4884, extension 23.
Sincerely,
( `i
