Ok, I am wrong. DWQ will still issue a modification to the
IP.....the USAGE may not, but DWQ will. This will be a modification
to the IP, not a NW 33 as Jerry ask for in the request. I will get
right on this.
Hi Sue. It is raining here for the first time in far too long. I
do
realize that you are participating in training and you will not
get
this message until sometime next week, but ..............I am going
to
try to clarify the modification requests. On June 1 I discovered a
second mod request for this project (dated May 17). I have already
written (and FAXED to you) the modification to the IP that was dated
April 30. The April 30 mod request came through PD&EA (the pre
construction side of DOT). The May 17 mod request came through the
division DEO, Jerry Parker. Now that you know this little tidbit,
perhaps the draft mod I sent you makes more sense. I spoke with
John
Thomas, USAGE who handles DOT div. 7. John had also already
discussed
the May 17 mod request with his DOT USAGE colleague Eric Alysmeyer.
Both are of the opinion that this channel diversion request is
"within
the scope of the condition of the new channel" (from the conditions
in
the original permit). Therefore ..............according to the
USAGE, no
need for the mod. I did tell John that you felt the requested
changes
were resonable. John Thomas is to send Jerry Parker a letter
explaining
all of this, and I requested he cc DWQ. I need something to put
into
the project file. We are now back to the "no 404, no 401" scenario.
All that said, I hope you have a good weekend.
