1) We have effluent water for our irrigation system. I (Andrew Stephens) am the main
control operator of the system. System needs to be around 150 psi to supply effective
irrigation throughout the golf course. I do most of my irrigating at night to avoid contact
with golfers.
2) 1 monitor the system by watching water run first thing in the morning before golfers are
allowed on the course. I am checking for how the irrigation heads are spraying, and I am
making sure the course has adequate coverage. So far, I have been satisfied with water
quality. If I was to become unsatisfied with water quality, I would contact you all at the
water department.
3) You should have drawings already.
4) 1 always plan for future line breaks. I have multiple pipes and connectors to fix these
breaks/leaks.
5) Safety measures: I do not water while golfers are on the course. We also have signs up
at the club indicating the usage of reclaimed water for golfer's knowledge. I also do not
irrigate into ponds or ditches.
6) If I were to have a break in a line, then I would valve it off to make sure no water is
being puddled or running off. If there was an emergency I would Ben at the water plant
(919-795-3349). 1 would call 911 if water was consumed by a person, and contact the
Department of Environmental Quality Division of Water Resources.
