We, as the contract ORC company were informed of this NOV on 1/6/21 and requested a copy of the paperwork along with a few days to respond. We are responding on behalf of the Stones Throw Homeowners Association. After reviewing the DMR for October 2020, where the TSS data exceeded the Daily Max 3 times and subsequently, the Monthly Average as well, we noted in the DMR that we were having difficulty with the air lift pump lines for Return Activated Sludge and Waste Activated Sludge becoming clogged with dead leaves. Leaves causing issues in this plant is typical for the fall season, though not normally clogging the RAS/WAS lines to the point that solids are an issue. This year, the lines were clogged over weekends causing TSS excursions during the sampling events on Monday-Tuesday each week. Since the leaves have ceased falling into the plant, the TSS in the effluent has returned to normal levels, well within permit limits. We hope that the facility will continue to operate within permit limits now that the fall season is over. Please feel free to contact us at 980-202-2377 if you need any additional information. This response will be submitted via email as well as hard copy through US Mail. Thank you for your consideration. Sincerely, Kellie Hedrick, NC/SC PE Principal Environmental Engineer NC Certified Contract Wastewater Operator 7000 Stinson Hartis Rd Suite F Indian Trail, NC 28079 (980) 202-2377
