Reference your March 10, 2011 letter, requesting documentation that we require no further
monitoring of the UT to Richland Creek Mitigation Site, adjacent to the NC 98 Wake Forest Bypass
at Sta. 10+40-Y2-, in Wake County, North Carolina, which was mitigation for TIP
Project R-2809B. The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) has monitored the
mitigation site for channel stability, and submitted reports in 2006 and 2007. Representatives of .
NCDOT Natural Environment and Division 5, the Corps, and environmental review agencies,
inspected the site on March 1, 2011.
Based on the March 1, 2011 site inspection, we concur with your recommendation to
discontinue monitoring and close this site, and have determined that you have satisfied the
mitigation stream construction, monitoring, and mitigation requirements of the permit authorization
for TIP R-2809B.
Should you have any questions, please call me at (919) 554-4884, extension 23.
Sincerely,
Eric C. Alsmeyer
