Dear Sir or Madam:
On January 3, 2011,the Division of Water Quality(DWQ)received your application dated November 8,
2010 to fill or otherwise impact 0.05 acres of 404/Wetlands, 136 feet of stream(it is not clear whether this
is a perennial stream or an intermittent stream, and whether impacts are temporary or permanent),and
10,502 square feet of Zone 1 Neuse River basin protected riparian buffer, and 5,819 square feet of Zone 2
Neuse River basin protected riparian buffer to construct the proposed greenway trail at the site. The DWQ
received additional information from you regarding this project on February 25,2011 and March 2,2011,
dated February 23,2011 and March 2, 2011 respectively.
The DWQ has determined that your application was incomplete and/or provided inaccurate information as
discussed below. The DWQ will require additional information in order to process your application to
impact protected wetlands and/or streams on the subject property. Please provide one copy of the additional
information requested below. If we do not receive the requested information,your project will be formally
returned as incomplete. Please provide the following information so that we may continue to review your
project.
Additional Information Requested:
1. Every plan sheet must be signed and sealed. Please provide a complete set of updated plans with
all plan sheets signed and sealed(one copy will be sufficient given the size of this project). Please
provide plan sheets TR-2 through TR-9 with the proposed one-foot topographic contours shown
to provide a clear depiction of the drainage patterns on this project.
2. Please orient the level spreader located at 42+40 LT so that it is parallel with the engineered filter
strip and that the grading for the is uniform across the entire width of the engineered filter strip.
Also,please show the drainage area of this device on the plan sheets.
3. Please ensure that the grading for the engineered filter strip located at 44+70 LT is uniform across
its entire width. As currently proposed,the berms on either side of the filter strip encroach on its
width. Also,please show the drainage area of this device on the plan sheets.

4. For the Bioretention Cell,please provide either a copy of the City of Durham's approval letter or
one copy of the approved plans OR a Bioretention Supplement Form with all required items
attached so that the DWQ can review the design. Also,please show the drainage area of this
device on the plan sheets.
5. The 10-foot wide vegetated filter strips that begin at 76+61.27, approximately 79+44, 83+49.31,
and 86+09.12 do not match the details referenced on Sheet DT-17. Please contact Annette Lucas
at(919) 807-6381 to discuss these devices.
6. Please provide calculations for the velocities of all of the ditches at their discharge points.
Please submit this information within 30 calendar days of the date of this letter. If we do not receive this
requested information within 30 calendar days of the date of this letter,your project will be withdrawn
and you will need to reapply with a new application and a new fee.
This letter only addresses the application review and does not authorize any impacts to wetlands,waters or
protected buffers. Please be aware that any impacts requested within your application are not authorized(at
this time)by the DWQ. Please call Ms. Annette Lucas at 919-807-6381 if you have any questions
