Dear Ms. Wilson,
Recently we confirmed that our grant funding for this project is available through
September 2012. This has allowed us to reconsider our request for concurrent mitigation.
Our new timeline:
Mitigation and enhancement March 2011
Disposal site construction July 2011
Sedimentation removal February/March 2012
Removal of Culverts and Road
Culverts to be moved during the stream bank restoration on Susie Branch shall include
150 linear feet at Lake Junaluska and 20 linear feet above the maintenance area (see
map). The site at Lake Junaluska shall require the lake to be down a minimum of two
feet. During the removal, stream flow (approximately .2 CFS) shall be pumped around
the disturbed area. Upon removal of culverts, all disturbed areas are to be covered by
straw mat and planting is to be per plan. Road removal (see map).
Point Source Impacts
Storm Water from the maintenance parking area is to be diverted through a rain garden
before entering stream (see map).
