On October 19, 2010 we received a request to modify the DA authorization for section X-0002C of the Fayetteville Outer Loop
(project. At this time, we need additional information in order to process the request. Please provide the:following information:
1. Please provide a detail or cross-section for the proposed 48 inch culvert at Site 8. The culvert should be buried one foot below the
stream bed unless you can demonstrate that burying the culvert would be more environmentally damaging.
2. The memo that describes the alternative methods investigated by the Geotechnical Unit for the proposed 611 at Site 8 states that the
settlement of the embankment is likely to damage the drainage pipes beneath the fill and that the pipe will be installed by jack and

the preloading waiting period. Please describe the system that will be installed in the stream channel to allow the water to
gh or around the fill area during the preloading period.
3. Please explain the purpose of the proposed sill at site 6 and explain why it would not be functional.
4. Please provide details or cross-sections of the proposed culvert with the sill and the proposed culvert with the junction box that will
be placed at Site 6. The plans should depict the depth at which the culvert will be buried and the slope of the proposed culvert.
Please provide the requested information within two weeks of this correspondence. Please contact me if you have any questions.
