Groundwater comments should be obtained . 6 . Other Special Items : N/A PART IV — EVALUATION AND RECOMMENDATIONS The applicant , Gaston Merchants Oil Company, has applied for coverage under General Permit No . NCG510000 . The proposed groundwater remediation project appears to be applicable for coverage under the General Permit . The applicant has proposed treatment facilities consistent with the General Permit . The only concern is that the contaminated groundwater may be discharging naturally into the stream. The groundwater section should indicate if the recovery pumps are adequate to prevent the contaminated groundwater from reaching surface waters . It is recommended that coverage under the General Permit be granted and a certificate of coverage be issued. Signature of report preparer Water Quali Regional Supervisor 17/07 Date .
