R-2721, R-2828, and R-2829 Wake and Johnston Counties The North Carolina Turnpike Authority (NCTA), a division of the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), will hold three Citizens Informational Workshops to discuss the proposed Triangle Expressway Southeast Extension project. Workshop #1 Tuesday, September 21, 2010 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. . Wake Technical Community College Student Services Building Rooms 2131214 9101 Fayetteville Road, Raleigh Workshop #2: Wednesday, September 22, 2010 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Holly Springs High School Commons 5329 Cass Holt Road, Holly Springs Workshop #3 Thursday, September 23, 2010 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Barwell Road Community Center 3935 Barwell Road, Raleigh Representatives of the project study team will present information, answer questions and receive comments regarding the proposed project. The informal setting is designed to promote discussion on issues such as the purpose and need for the project, conceptual alternatives and study corridors, stakeholder issues and concerns, and future steps in the project development process. The same information will be presented at each of the three workshops. There will not be a formal presentation - participants are encouraged to drop in of any time during the workshops. Interested persons may also submit written comments or questions to the address below. The NCTA is proposing to extend the Triangle Expressway to the southeast and complete the 540 Outer Loop from NC 55 Bypass near Apex to US 64/US 264 Bypass in Knightdale. Several alternatives, including improving existing roadways in the project area and constructing a new roadway, are under consideration. Several alternative corridors for a new roadway are being studied. As part of the project, NCTA will study the feasibility and impacts of developing the proposed project, in whole or in part, as a toll road. The Turnpike Authority will provide auxiliary aids and services under the Americans with Disabilities Act for disabled persons who wish to participate in the workshop.
