We currently are scheduled to visit the site at 9:30 am on 22 April 2010. The email (below) states that the sinuosity on the sketch is 1.5 but they plan to lower it to 1.3. 1 believe that it may still be more sinuous than typical streams in the piedmont. Currently, Shari Bryant (NCWRC), Ian McMillan (NCDENR) and 1 are scheduled'to attend the 22 April Meeting. Todd Tugwell has stated that he would like to attend, but has a schedule conflict. What is drawn represents a 1.5 sinuosity (K) and is 7,105 of h6e '§tre hilcliannel. To be a little more conservative, we estimate a K=1.3 and a subsequent stream length of 6,130 feet. The proposed stream type will be a Rosgen C-4 (gravel) and will be 90% Priority 1 restoration. About 10% will be Priority 2 towards the downstream end of the project to step down to match final grade. We do envision some rock structures for vertical and lateral stability. We will also include bioengineering materials for in-stream habitat restoration. The construction plan will be to establish the new stream channel in the "dry" and then <<image003.jpg>> turn the old stream into the new stream once all of the stabilization materials are in place. The cut material will be placed in the old stream bed. However, we have much less material than area to fill, therefore we will create some oxbow ponds and other "wetland" habitat where the old stream channel remains. We have had meetings will Duke Power about their utility easement. There may be some portions of the buffer area that will overlap the overhead power easement. We have discussed the short term and long term management of the buffer area and believe that we can come to an agreement to provide an adequate buffer for this area. This agreement will be in writing and part of the MBI. I would appreciate some guidance on how the IRT has dealt with this issue in the past. 2 a _ Dr ? maps Address Laforest Greensoro i4d5 ` I Get Google Maps on your phone " " to4664S3 Text the word GMAPS r F' dd i ?Q? :.
