Subject: Courtesy notification for the use of a NW 3 & 13 request for pipe replacement and riprap
placement on SR 1 106 (Joe Mobley Rd) in Martin County.
This is a courtesy notification from the North Carolina Department of Transportation for the use of
a NW 3 & 13 permit for the replacement of a pipe and riprap placement on SR 1 106 in Martin County. The
pipe is located 0.45 miles west of US 17 (35.742264, 77.083483). The existing pipes are 3 @ 66" x 38'
Reinforced Concrete Pipe. The pipes will be completely removed, following NCDOT BMP's for pipe
replacement. The proposed pipe is I @ 23'-2" x 6'-1 1" x 40.5' Aluminum Box Culvert with headwalls on
both ends. The pipe is located in an UT to Smithwick Creek, Class °C" waters. Permit drawings and a topo
map are included in this letter. If you need any additional information or have any questions concerning
