The Division of Water Resources (Division) received your sludge survey information on
September 23, 2020. With the survey results, you requested an extension of the sludge survey
requirement for lagoon 1 at the Darden Farms Nursery facility. Due to the amount of treatment
volume available, and the rate of sludge accumulation for the lagoon, the Division agrees that a
sludge survey is not needed until December 31, 2025. The next sludge survey for lagoon 1 at
Darden Farms Nursery should be performed before December 31, 2025.
With the survey results, you requested an extension of the sludge survey requirement for Lagoon
2 at the Darden Farms Nursery facility. Due to the amount of treatment volume available, and
the rate of sludge accumulation for the lagoon, the Division feels that an extension is not
appropriate at this time.
The next sludge survey for Lagoon 2 at the Darden Farms Nursery should be performed before
December 31, 2020. Please retain this letter and keep it with your farm records for reference.
