Davis @ncrnA.net> Organization: NC DENR - Asheville Regional Office To: Christie Jackson <Christie Jackson@ncmail.net> You sent me several permit modification requests; all from James & James. Following please find my recommendations: Kenmure, NC0056928. The request is for change of temperature monitoring from daily to weekly to coincide with the requirement that the facility be visited weekly by the ORC. I concur. Dana Hill, NC0073393. The request is that the facility not be required to provide composite efflluent sampling until the full 30,000 gpd capacity system is placed in operation. At present the owners are operating the 20,000 gpd unit only. The owners woluld like to be allowed to take grab samples until the 10,000 gpd unit is brought on line as well. Such a rewuest is consistant with our self monitoring guidance. I concur with the request. Bon Worth, NC0037176. Bon Worth is seeking some relief from toxiciity monitoring. Ultimately whether the company, which discharges only a very small volume of domestic wastewater, gets relief from toxicity monitoring will be decided by the people in the Aquatic Toxiciiiity Unit. I am however in favor of whatever relief we are able to offer. Greystone Subdivision, N00068799. Greystone would like removal of the requirement that effluent chlorination and dechlorination be provided. In addition to the information offered by James & James I offer that the dillution ratio in the receiving stream is 390 to 1. It would seem to me that the dillution ratio available is sufficient to allow us to remove the requirement for effluent disinfection Van Wingerden, NC0070335. The sewage treatment plant is located besideg the greenhouse at 4055 Haywood Road rather than 56 Jeffres Road.rvo" V Call with questions. PO Box 1354, Mountain Home, NC 28758 OFFICE: (828) 697-0063 FAX: (828) 697-0065 MAR 2 7 2001 The Dana Hill Community, permit number NCO073393 recently received their permit at a permitted flow of 30,000 gallons per day. While this capability is on site, the Community does not require this large of a system at present time. Located on site are a 20,000-gallon unit and a 10,000-gallon unit. The flow is only being piped into the 20,000-gallon unit and the 10,000-gallon unit is available upon expansion of the park or need, which ever comes first. The regulations state that any system with a allowable discharge of 30,000 use composite samplers for the collection of their parameters. We respectfully request that the facility be allowed a before and after expansion permit. Since the 20,000-gallon unit is currently in line, the regulation for composite samples should not apply. Please take a moment to review this request. We will await your decision in this matter. If additional information in needed, please contact me. C]Thank ysu, uanita James
