II.B.2.c Target Audiences The permittee identified, assessed annually and updated the description of the target audiences likely to have significant storm water impacts and why they were selected. Since this is a residential/tourist area with only a small business community and no industry, the target audience changes little year to year. Most pollutants are associated with residential activity and education focuses on those. Relevant pollutants and solutions are addressed in public displays and in the Stormwater Guide pamphlet which is available on the town’s website. II.B.2.e Informational Web Site The permittee promoted and maintained an internet web site designed to convey the program’s message. II.B.2.f Public Education Materials The permittee distributed stormwater educational material to appropriate target groups. Yes --- Comments (List distributed materials and quantity, message, distribution mechanism, target audience for each if not included in program documentation/annual reporting) 50 pet waste dispensers were distributed at the street festival and 15 at Town Hall. 37 portable ashtrays were distributed at the street festival and Town Hall. Stop the Clog information was provided to 1975 property owners in the annual Consumer Confidence Report. II.B.2.h Public Education and Outreach Program The permittee’s outreach program, including those elements implemented locally or through a cooperative agreement, included a combination of approaches designed to reach the target audiences. They host an Adopt-A-Beach program and help co-ordinate beach sweep. II.C.2.b Mechanism for Public Involvement The permittee provided and promoted a mechanism for public involvement that provides for input on stormwater issues and the stormwater program. Kure Beach is a small town and residents do not hesitate to contact council members or town offices with issues. In addition, anyone can attend the Shoreline Access and Beach Protection Committee monthly meetings.
