Subject: Notice of Violation - Tracking No. NOV-2020-DV-0414
Dear Mr. Basinger,
This letter is a follow up to our Notice of Violation of the above referenced NOV.
2009 Mallard Pointe Drive (Incident Number 202002365):
• Incident occurred on 08-16-2020.
• Pursuant to NC G.S. 143-215.1 C, the City of Kannapolis gave notice of an untreated
wastewater spill to surface waters on 08-16-2020.
• The SSO was caused by Inflow and Infiltration due to torrential rainfall.
• We immediately dispatched a crew out to the location to inspect.
• The impacted area near the affected manhole was flushed with fresh water, raked and
lime spread.
• Restoration of the site was completed as soon as the storm had passed.
• We performed an inspection of the sewer line and found no deficiencies in the immediate
area on 08-17-2020. We are working with our Engineering Department to determine what
upgrades can be made.

Subject: Notice of Violation - Tracking No. NOV-2020-DV-0414
Dear Mr. Basinger,
This letter is a follow up to our Notice of Violation of the above referenced NOV.
1901 Concord Lake Rd (Incident Number 202002366):
® Incident occurred on 08-16-2020.
• The SSO was caused by Pump Number One failing during an Inflow and Infiltration Event
due to torrential rainfall.
® We immediately dispatched a crew out to the location to inspect.
® The impacted area near the affected wet well was flushed with fresh water, raked and
lime spread.
® Restoration of the site was completed as soon as the storm had passed.
® We performed an inspection of the wet well on 08-16-2020 and found no deficiencies
other than the pump failure. We replaced Pump One with a spare on 08-17-2020.

® Incident occurred on 08-16-2020.
® The SSO was caused by Inflow and Infiltration due to torrential rainfall.
® Pursuant to NC G.S. 143-215.1 C, the City of Kannapolis gave notice of an untreated
wastewater spill to surface waters on 08-17-2020.
® We immediately dispatched a crew out to the location to inspect.
® The impacted area near the affected manhole was flushed with fresh water, raked and
lime spread.
® Restoration of the site was completed as soon as the storm had passed.
® We performed an inspection of the sewer line and found some minor deficiencies in the
line on 08-18-2020. We are working with our Engineering Department to determine what
repairs can be made.
