STORMWATER
LAWN CARE/GARDEN
•
Leave clippings on the lawn to keep it fertile and moist
•
Over water your lawn
•
Use pesticides and fertilizers sparingly
•
Leave yard waste in the street or sweep it into the storm drain or
•
Compost or mulch yard waste

HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE
•
Properly use and store cleaners, solvents and paints
•
Buy more toxic products than you will use
•
Use natural or less toxic alternatives when possible
•
Dump hazardous materials into the storm drain or garbage
•
Clearly label all containers with content
•
Over -use or over -dose household chemicals
•
Read and follow the chemical's direction on the packaging
•
Allow unused paint to dry out and than properly dispose of it
PET WASTE
•
When walking your pet, remember to pick up the waste. Use
•
Dump pet waste down a storm drain or into a stream
newspapers, bags or pooper-scoopers to pick up waste.
•
Leave chemicals out
•
Dispose of properly in garbage can, home toilet, or burying the pet
•
Pour waste water in the street, storm drain or stream
waste at least 1 foot under ground

Dispose of pet bathing water down an indoor drain or a grassy area
•
Keep your dog on a leash when walking along stream
