Re: Additional Information Request of July 22, 2020 from Vivien Zhong, DWR
Permit Renewal Application No. WQ0019755
Oak Ridge Commons WWTP, Reclaimed Water & Wastewater Irrigation Systems
Dear Mr. Cooke:
I have reviewed our project files for the referenced wastewater system, including the
original Soil Scientist's reports, and have discussed the Additional Information Request
with your system operators. Based on these actions, I can offer the following responses
to the comments in the AIR.
Comment A.: Some of the spray heads ha ve been capped off in Zones RC-03, RC-06,
and UP-02 due to problematic issues during irrigation events. Please provide an
updated site map that shows the heads that are no longer being used in these zones
(and any others that have impacts) along with updated acreages for each impacted
zone.
Response: The removed spray heads were located in Zones RC-03, RC-05A, and UP-02.
The enclosed updated Site Map shows the location of the removed heads. The table
enclosed with this letter shows the net area in each zone (with all of the spray heads in
use), and the revised net area in each zone (reflecting the reduced wetted areas due to
the removal of the spray heads).
Please note that the individual Zone areas are generally close to, but do not match the
individual Zone areas shown in the latest issue of the permit. However, the total
reclaimed water and upset effluent wetted areas do match the previously permitted
totals. It should also be noted that the latest issue of the permit listed equal areas for
the "A" and "B" portions of each of the Zones that have two soil types. I'm not sure
where that information originated, but the enclosed table lists the correct areas for each
"A" and "B" zone.

Comment B.: Irrigation Zone RC-04 is actually two separate zones, 04A and 04B. The
attachment B has been updated to list Zone RC-04A with max annual loading of22.21
inches/year & Zones RC-04B with a max annual loading of 36.84 inches/year. However,
the acreage for each of these zones is unknown. Please provide the acreages and
updated coordinates for Zones RC-04A and RC-04B.
Response: As stated in the previous response, the enclosed table lists the correct areas
for all of the Zones. The table also provides the latitude and longitude for the
approximate center of each zone.
Comment C.• Irrigation Zone RC-08A and RC-08B were combined into RC-08, please
provide updated coordinates for Zone RC-08.
Response: Zone RC-08 was always one Zone; I think the original issue of the permit
had it incorrectly divided into two zones.
Comment D. It was noted in the review that there are seven independent irrigation
zones present for the standard wastewater irrigation system, while only one field "N"
was listed in the previous permitAttachment B. These irrigation Zones are dosed
independently, one zone at a time. Please provide the acreages and updated
coordinates for Zones UP-01 through UPp-07.
Response: The enclosed table provides the area and latitude/longitude for each of the
Zones UP-01 through UP-07.
In addition to the enclosed table, I have also enclosed the revised site map and a copy
of the soils mapping as prepared by the Soil Scientist for the 2005 expansion of the
system. Please let me know if you need anything else at this time.
