5. Describe the existing land use or condition of the site at the time of this application:*
The land is a 12-acre commercial property with an operating restaurant.
The land near the shoreline is mostly cleared and level. There is currently
a boat ramp and two piers, which will need to be removed (and rebuilt in
the future) at the time of the excavation.

7. Describe proposed work (include discussion as to how hardening of shoreline has been
avoided, or why it is necessary):
The proposed work is a straightforward excavation. Per compliance with
the lake's operator, Cube Hydro, excavation will occur "in the dry" when
the lake is next drawn down to sufficient levels. There will be no "wet"
dredging. Excavation is with typical tractor equipment and dump trucks.
Excavated material will be stored away from the lake on higher ground
elsewhere on the property, where there is ample room.

The land is mostly cleared and grass -covered. There are a handful of
trees a few feet from the shoreline, which will not be disturbed.

Notes
This is a commercial property with a popular restaurant that sits at the end of a shallow cove. At
75' out from the shoreline, the current water depth is about 4 feet. To excavate, we will need to
remove the existing piers, and later apply to build new ones.
There is no in -water vegetation to be affected. There are a handful of pine trees above the
shoreline which will remain.
Excavation will taper to 8' depth, as shown above, and continue as needed to connect to deeper
water further out in the cove.
