On August 13, 2020, Isaiah Reed from the Asheville Regional Office of the Division of
Energy, Mineral and Land Resources (DEMLR), conducted a compliance inspection for the
Jacob Holm Industries, inc. facility, located at 1265 Sandhill Road, Candler. In Buncombe
County, North Carolina. A copy of the Compliance Inspection Report is enclosed for your
review. The inspection and file review revealed that the subject facility is covered by No
Exposure Certification NCGNE0256.
As a result of the inspection, the following deficiencies are noted:
1) Uncovered Dumpsters
Covers were not provided for all dumpsters on site.
Required Response
You are required to respond to this office, in writing, within 30 calendar days from
receipt of this notice. Your written response should include a reasonable explanation as to
why the above stated deficiencies have occurred, as well as a Plan of Action to prevent
them from recurring, including a timetable in which the deficiencies will be corrected.

Inspection Summary:
On August 13, 2020 this facility was inspected for compliance. I met with Sabrina Pittillo and Maria Curran on site. During
the inspection, the following items were noted:
1) The areas where material from the industrial process were observed accumulating during the previous inspection have
been cleaned. It is recommended that an increased frequency of inspections in those areas be implemented to insure
continued compliance.
2) The dumpsters on site are still un-covered and not in compliance with the No Exposure Certification. The permittee shall
submit a plan of action to provide covers for all dumpsters on site within 30 days of receiving the accompanying Notice of
Deficiency.
