Good morning Rob -
On behalf of our client, the Town of Fuquay-Varina, we are submitting the attached buffer authorization
modification request for the Park Depot Greenway project. This one was previously permitted in 2015, then
we re -authorized in 2019 since construction had not yet initiated and our permit was expiring. In that time lag,
an adjacent land owner has constructed a single family development, which created a conflict between the
proposed greenway alignment as originally permitted. As such, approximately 800' of greenway near NC 55
has been shifted slightly to alleviate the conflict. The shift has resulted in an additional 500 square feet of
impact to Zone 2 of the riparian buffer of the UT to Black Creek that runs along the northern side of the
alignment. We have designed a retaining wall for a portion of the greenway to avoid additional wetland
impacts, however it was not feasible to construct a retaining wall along the entire length of the alignment shift
to be able to fully avoid Zone 2 impacts.
Attached for your review are the modification request, updated impact table, and revised plans and cross
