I made a site visit on Wednesday this week to measure the distance from the lowest lines on the drip irrigation zones to
the lake. I measured the distance at the two closest points (Zone #3). At the corner where Zone #3 turns toward the
east, measurement is just over 50 ft., the other location was just north of that and measurement is just over 58 ft.
It appears the GPS coordinates on the ND GIS layer are not correct. It has zones #3 and #4 right on top of each other. I
took GPS measurements in zones #3 and #4, they are shown on the aerial photo map below. Based on field
measurements, the system meets the setbacks established in the original permit issued for its construction.

Inspection Summary:
On July 8, 2020, WSRO staff made a site visit to the subject facility for a follow-up to measure distances from the drip
irrigation zones to the onsite lake to ensure setbacks are met. GPS coordinates for the Zones #3 & #4 were also obtained to
compare with Division's GIS ND Fields Layer data. Setbaccks were found to be compliant. Below is a summary of notes
from the site visit.
• Zone #3 is the closest irrigation zone to the lake. Two measurements were taken. First measurement was >58 ft., the
second measurement was >50 ft.
• GPS coordinates were obtained near the center of each irrigation zone (i.e. #3 & #4).
- Zone #3 = 36.027045,-79.681043
- Zone #4 = 36.027266,-79.681362
The coordinates shown on the Division's GIS map for the irrigation zones #3 & #4 are not accurate and need to be updated.
• The pressure manifold box near Zone #1 was found to be removed and the area around it excavated. See field notes for
approx. location. The ORC (Chip White) indicated this was done to make a repair due to a high flow alarm on the irrigation
system.
