CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE - PHASE 1
1. CONTRACTOR SHALL SCHEDULE A PRECONSTRUCTION MEETING, PRIOR TO BEGINNING WORK, WITH THE OWNER'S
REPRESENTATIVE, ENGINEER, AND NCDENR-DIVISION OF LAND QUALITY (DLQ).
2. OBTAIN LAND DISTURBING PERMIT FROM NCDENR-DLQ AND ALL OTHER REQUIRED PERMITS FOR THIS PROJECT
PRIOR TO ANY CONSTRUCTION.
3. CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY LOCATION AND DEPTH OF ALL EXISTING UTILITIES PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION TO AVOID
CONFLICT DURING INSTALLATION OF WATER LINES, SEWER LINES, EROSION CONTROL MEASURES, AND STORM
DRAINAGE. CONTRACTOR SHALL CALL 1-800-632-4949 N.C. "ONE CALL" PRIOR TO DIGGING TO LOCATE ALL EXISTING
UNDERGROUND UTILITIES ON SITE.
4. CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY OFF -SITE WASTE AREAS ASSOCIATED WITH THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE
SITE AS REQUIRED BY NCDENR-DLQ.
5. INSTALL TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCE #1, SKIMMER BASIN, WETLAND RISER / BARREL STRUCTURE, ROCK
CHECK DAMS, AND TEMPORARY SILT FENCE AS SHOWN ON APPROVED PLANS. TEMPORARY DIVERSIONS TO BE
INSTALLED AS SITE IS BROUGHT TO GRADE. CLEAR ONLY AS NECESSARY TO INSTALL THESE DEVICES. SEED
IMMEDIATELY AFTER CONSTRUCTION OF THE TEMPORARY DIVERSIONS, BERMS AND BASIN.
6. CONTRACTOR SHALL CALL NCDENR-DLQ FOR ONSITE INSPECTION BY THE ENVIRONMENTAL INSPECTOR AND OBTAIN
A CERTIFICATE OF COMPLIANCE PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF GRADING OPERATION.
7. GRADE DITCH ALONG THE NORTHERN PROPERTY LINE AS SHOWN ON GRADING PLAN, FILL REMAINING FARM DITCH
THAT RUNS THROUGH THE PROPERTY AND REMOVE 10" TERRA-COTTA PIPE.
8. BEGIN CLEARING, GRUBBING, AND ROUGH GRADING OF SITE AS SHOWN ON SHEET L1201. MAINTAIN EROSION
�TROL DEVICES AS NEEDED.
9. STA ILIZE SITE AS AREAS ARE BROUGHT UP TO GRADE. ESTABLISH GROUND COVER ON DENUDED AREAS WITHIN
/FORTEEN (14) DAYS OF COMPLETION OF ANY PHASE OF GRADING.
4.g�IFF IT IS DETERMINED DURING CONSTRUCTION THAT SIGNIFICANT SEDIMENT IS LEAVING THE SITE, DESPITE PROPER
IMPLEMENTATION AND MAINTENANCE, THE CONTRACTOR IS OBLIGATED TO TAKE ADDITIONAL CORRECTIVE ACTION.
11. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL INSPECT AND MAINTAIN THE EROSION CONTROL DEVICES SO THEY CONTINUE TO
FUNCTION PROPERLY. ACCUMULATED SEDIMENT IN BASIN MUST BE REMOVED WHEN IT REACHES ONE-HALF THE
DESIGN DEPTH OF THE BASIN. THE WASHED STONE AT THE OUTLETS MUST BE REPLACED WITH CLEAN STONE WHEN
IT BECOMES CLOGGED WITH SEDIMENT. SILT FENCING SHALL BE INSPECTED AND CLEANED OF SEDIMENT AFTER
EACH RAINFALL, THE CONTRACTOR IS ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR INSPECTING AND MAINTAINING THESE DEVICES.
GENERAL NOTES
1. ALL CONSTRUCTION IS TO BE PERFORMED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAMLICO COUNTY, NCDENR, AND NCDOT
STANDARDS AND SPECIFICATIONS.
2. ALL PERMITS RELATING TO THIS PROJECT MUST BE OBTAINED PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION.
3. PROTECTION OF EXISTING VEGETATION: AT THE START OF GRADING INVOLVING THE LOWERING OF EXISTING GRADE
AROUND A TREE OR STRIPPING OF TOPSOIL, A CLEAN, SHARP VERTICAL CUT SHALL BE MADE AT THE EDGE OF THE
TREE SAVE AREA AT THE SAME TIME AS OTHER EROSION CONTROL MEASURES ARE INSTALLED. THE TREE
PROTECTION FENCING SHALL BE INSTALLED ON THE SIDE OF THE CUT FARTHEST AWAY FROM THE TREE TRUNK AND
SHALL REMAIN IN PLACE UNTIL ALL CONSTRUCTION IN THE VICINITY OF THE TREE IS COMPLETE. NO STORAGE OF
MATERIALS, FILL, OR EQUIPMENT AND NO TRESPASSING SHALL BE ALLOWED WITHIN THE BOUNDARY OF THE
PROTECTED AREA.
GRADING NOTES
1. INITIATE CONTRUCTION SEQUENCE BEFORE BEGINING CLEARING AND GRADING ON -SITE OPERATIONS,
2. STRIP TOPSOIL TO FULL DEPTH IN AREAS TO BE GRADED. STOCKPILE TOPSOIL AS SPECIFIED.
3. AREAS TO BE GRADED SHALL BE CLEARED OF ALL EXISTING VEGETATION. CONTRACTOR TO PROTECT VEGETATION
LOCATED BEYOND GRADING LIMITS.
4. COMPACT ALL FILL AREAS TO 95% OF MAXIMUM DENSITY, OR PER GEOTECHNICAL RECOMMENDATIONS.
5. OPERATOR SHALL FIELD VERIFY EXISITNG TOPOGRAPHY IN RELATION TO THE PROPOSED GRADES TO ENSURE
DRAINAGE IN THE DIRECTION INDICATED ON PLANS.
TOTAL DISTURBED AREA = 3.10 AC.

EROSION CONTROL NOTES
1. SUFFICIENT EROSION CONTROL PRACTICES MUST BE INSTALLED AND MAINTAINED TO RETAIN SEDIMENT WITHIN THE
BOUNDARIES OF THE SITE. ALL DISTURBED AREAS SHALL BE NONEROSIVE AND STABLE WITHIN FOURTEEN (14)
CALENDER DAYS OF COMPLETION OF ACTIVITY.
2. MAINTENANCE: ALL EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL PRACTICES TO BE INSPECTED WEEKLY AND AFTER EVERY
RUNOFF PRODUCING RAINFALL EVENT. IF NEEDED, REPAIRS SHALL BE MADE IMMEDIATELY.
3. MAXIMUM GRADED SLOPE SHALL NOT EXCEED 3:1, UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
4. SEE SHEET C5102 FOR EROSION CONTROL DETAILS.
5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE DUST CONTROL FOR VEGETATIVE COVER, MULCH AND SPRAY ON SDHESIVE PER
NCDENR RECOMMENDATIONS.
6. SKIMMER BASIN TO BE INSTALLED PER SKIMMER BASIN TABLE AND DETAILS AS SHOWN ON SHEET C5102.
SEED BED PREPARATION - TEMPORARY SEEDING
1. CHISEL COMPACTED AREAS AND SPREAD TOPSOIL 3" DEEP OVER ADVERSE SOIL CONDITIONS.
2. RIP THE ENTIRE AREA TO A 6" DEPTH.
3. REMOVE ALL ROCKS, ROOTS AND OTHER OBSTRUCTIONS LEAVING SURFACES SMOOTH AND UNIFORM.
4. APPLY AGRICULTURAL LIME AND FERTILIZER UNIFORMLY AND MIX WITH SOIL.
ARGICULTURAL LIMESTONE: 2 TONS t ACRE (3 TONS 1 ACRE IN CLAY SOILS)
FERTILIZER: 1,000 LBS 1 ACRE - 10-10-10
SUPERPHOSPHATE: 500 LBS - 20% ANALYSIS
