The project is inside the Angier Town Limits. Angier is subject to the Phase II stormwater rules. Under these rules, the site will have to control runoff from the 1 inch — 24 hour storm and reduce Total Suspended Solids by 85%. The project will use a combination of sheet flow and a bio-retention basin to accomplish this requirement. The basin is sized to capture all runoff from the design storm. In addition, according to the BMP manual, the bio retention basin is approved as a device that meets the 85% TSS requirement. Larger storms are by -bass the basin via an emergency spillway located on the south side of the embankment. • 9 n rtl- an re- 4 - JV - 713' 4s 78' 4a JV"- 713' 44" 78- 43- 30" YY W Z>8 lLr I zj 'n .r a , .•7? m 27W !" u '''•• • _ , stir & `' '• ' Project Site '' tiHd'. •`•' . ► ,,f r Neuse River Basin xka 47. r lip ' .'• ,, # it \...,/ •. - /raa./w'r—ai-a•'• f ,- J ai `a /.•` „rwy m Of O ra •ry ra ••a V rn 4 /U a4 ,7V !tl- 44 f8- 4J JU YY YY CaJtl4 NAT GE4 o a.s MILE k`1 trr►f EIMAPS 0 7004 0 _ SOOm ! 1000 FEET KILOMETER - 9.0° W 11/09 ® Mr. John Tucker -PE Consulting Engineer Job # 04 PO BOX 297 September 6, 2009 Fuquay.Varina, NC 27526 Re: Soils Evaluation for storm water retention basin for 1.5 acre office complex at NC 55 and Maude Stewart Road (Byrd Properties of Angier, LLC ), Wake County. A soils evaluation was performed in the south east corner of the tract to determine the depth to the seasonal high water table for the retention basin. Three detail soils descriptions were done within the site as shown on the map. This is in the coastal plain uplands and the soil series are the Norfolk and Wagram, The depth to the seasonal high water table is around 55 to 60 inches from the ground surface. During the hand auger borings, free water was encountered around 86 inches in the two Norfolk soils and around 92 inches in the Wagram soil. The seasonal high water table was indicated by the presence of chroma 2 mottles and is a fluctuating seasonal ground water table associated with landscape position. Following are the three detail deep soils boring descriptions performed by a hand auger.
