Chris, Sheila, Joey, and Mike,
Chris Ayers at the NC Public Staff mentioned to me that the Grand Oaks community in Durham County
has a failing septic system in need of attention. Grand Oaks is off of Bivens Rd. and includes Red Coach
Rd. and Grand Oaks Rd. My understanding is that the situation involves issues pertinent to the NC Public
Staff, DEQ, and DOT, and so I wanted to connect you all and encourage you to discuss the matter. Chris,
could you facilitate a phone call or meeting at your convenience with the folks on this email or their
designees.

Sheila Holman, Assist Secretary, DEQ, 919-707-8619
Joey Hopkins, Div. 5 Engineer, DOT, 919-220-4600
