Dear Mr. Thornburg:
I am writing to you today on the behalf of The City of Bessemer City. The city has
not land applied any residual solids, I believe, since 2004. We recently talked with
and had sampling performed by Synagro on our two holding ponds. We found
that paying a permitted company to do this on a contracted basis is better than
having the permit ourselves when we do not have the means to dredge or
transport the material. We are not using the permit. Therefore, after talking with
our Public Works Director, Synagro and Maria Schutte we have decided to rescind
our permit no. WQ0002264.
