SUBJECT: Warren County, Replacement of Bridge No. 76 on SR
1513 over Fishing Creek and Bridge No. 129 on SR 1513 over
Fishing Creek Overflow, TIP No. B-2657, State Project No.
8.2410301, Federal-Aid Project No. BRZ-1513(1).
Attached for your information is a copy of the project
planning report for the subject project. The project is
being processed by the Federal Highway Administration as a
"Categorical Exclusion" in accordance with 23 CFR 771.115(b).
Therefore, we do not anticipate requesti crin\ individual
permit but propose to proceed under a N t*onwi?de Permit in
accordance with 33 CFR 330 Appendix A B 23) *ssued November
22, 1991, by the Corps of Engineers. hz pr visions of
Section 330.4 and Appendix A (C) of these-- egulations will be
followed in the construction of the project.
We do not anticipate that a permit application or
notification to the North Carolina Department of Environment,
Health and Natural Resources, Division of Environmental
Management, will be required for this project.

A. Project Description: -
THE PROJECT IS LOCATED IN WARREN COUNTY OVER FISHING
CREEK AND FISHING CREEK OVERFLOW. BRIDGE NO. 76 ON SR
1513 WILL BE REPLACED INTITH A BRIDGE APPROXIMATELY 200
FEET LONG WITH A 24-FOOT TRAVELWAY. BRIDGE NO. 129 WILL
BE REPLACED WITH A BOX CULVERT (2 O 81x6'). BOTH BRIDGES
WILL BE REPLACED IN EXISTING LOCATION, AND THE ROAD WILL
BE CLOSED DLTRING CONSTRUCTION. TRAFFIC WILL BE
MAINTAINED ON EXISTING AREA ROADS.
NOTE: Refer to Section D, "Special Project Information,"
for list of ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENTS.
B. Purpose and Need:
BRIDGE NO. 76 HAS A SUFFICIENCY RATING OF 35.8 OUT OF
100.0 AND AN ESTIMATED REMAINING LTFE OF LESS THAN FTVF.
YEARS. WEIGHT POSTING IS 8 TONS FOR ALL VEHICLES.
BECAUSE OF THE DETERIORATED CONDITION, BRIDGE NO. 76 MUST
$F REPLACED. BRIDGE NO. 129 HAS A SUFFICIENCY RATTNG OF
49.2 OUT OF 100.0. BRIDGE NO. 129 SHOULD BE REPLACED AT
THE SAME TIME AS BRIDGE NO. 76 TO MINIMIZE DISRUPTION TO
THE TRAVELLING PUBLIC.
