This email is to inform you of a recent plant upset at the WSWWTP facility in Oakboro, NC. Heavy rainfalls
last week resulted in I/I overload of the treatment plant resulting in poor treatment. MAy 18 - MAy 26 we have
recorded 10.5" of rain at our facility. Operational staff worked over the weekend to mitigate operational and
water quality issues that may result from this rain event. At present 5/27/20 our Effluent quality has recovered
and "appears" good. I have some lab results for effluent for 5/19, 5/20 that reflect the severity of the inflow. See
attached. Outfall 001 was put in service for I day to prevent the effluent pumps from being overloaded. I will
calculate the amount of effluent discharge for 001 and include in May 2020 eDMR.
