Proposed Puma Station
Sections 1 through 12
Forest Creek Development
Southern Pines, NC
This proposed pump station is to replace the existing pump station at Section 5, that
handles flows from Sections 1 through 7. The existing pump station is referenced to as
item "1) Forest Creek" on the Table of Lift Stations, attached to the Town of Southern
Pines' letter dated March 20, 1996 — copy attached herein.
This proposed pump station is to then handle the flows from both the existing pump
station, plus from the new Sections 8 through 12.
Therefore, all remaining information in the Town's letter dated March 20, 1996 is still
valid now with the proposed pump station just replacing the existing pump station ( no
new additional pump stations).

Forest Creek Development
Dear Mr. Allen:
In response to your Additional Information Request dated
March 14, 1996, I submit the followings
ITEM NO. 1: The 24,704 linear feet of 8-inch gravity sewer
as stated in the application is correct for all six sections
submitted. The 7400 linear feet referred to in your letter
is in Section 2 only. All 226 lots will be served in this
phase (Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7) of the development.
ITEM NO. 2: Information on a proposed telemetry system for
the lift station is attached. The Town of Southern Pines
currently has eight lift stations with receptacles for our
emergency generators. The addition of this one will make
nine. Our ten other lift stations do not have such a
receptacle. Electrical service for these lift stations is
divided between two substations and multiple feeder lines.
The Town has two emergency generators to serve the lift
stations that have receptacles. The evployee who receives
first call in emergencies lives less than five minutes from
the Public Works Complex. Six other employees are available
to operate the generators with response times from five to
thirty-five minutes.
r
Attached is a listing of all our lift stations including the
proposed one. The list gives the size of the station as
well as the approximate travel time from the Public Works
Complex. It also indicates if the station has a receptacle
for the emergency generators. A map showing the location of
the lift stations is also attached.
I trust that this information will satisfy your concerns.
If you have any further questions, please advise.
Sincerely,
B. B. Teague
