SUBJECT: Letter of request from American Oil
Company dated August 5, 1990,
to change the sampling point at the
Greensboro, N.C. Terminal, NPDES Permit
No. NC0003671, Guilford County
The WSRO does not believe that the sampling point
should be changed. If the Permittee wants to sample at both
the oil/water separator drain plus the present pond
discharge drain to gather data for a possible future
request, they should pursue that activity. The present
pond's discharge reflects the site's discharges from all
sources; whereas, the oil/water discharge pipe doesn't.
Amoco may want to exclude uncontaminated -water from the pond
and discharge it via a new discharge pipe, channel, or
driveway. They may need to pursue special treatment in
order to meet limits.
